Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush (Mahogany Rush, 1970-76). Groupe mi-hard rock, mi-heavy metal formé en 1970 à Montréal par le guitariste et chanteur Frank Marino (Montréal, 20 novembre 1954), le batteur Jimmy Ayoub et le guitariste basse Paul Harwood. Le groupe s'inspira d'abord des groupes blues-rock britanniques, et Marino adopta le style exhibitionniste du guitariste Jimi Hendrix. Après avoir enregistré au Canada trois albums (1972-74) pour Kot'ai (Maxoom, KOT-3001; Child of the Novelty, KOT-3302; Strange Universe, KOT-3308), le trio s'installa aux US.
