Lou Reed, de son vrai nom Louis Firbank, naît le 2 mars 1942 à Freeport aux Etats-Unis. Il crée dans les années 60 le groupe Velvet Underground, auteur entre autre des titres cultes Heroin et Sister Rav, qui reste aujourd'hui une référence. C'est pour Lou Reed un tremplin idéal. En 1972, il débute une carrière solo avec l'album Lou Reed, suivi de Transformer dont est extrait le hit Walk on the wild side. Au fur et à mesure de ses albums, l'artiste crée une musique personnelle d'où émerge sa voix grave et rauque. De 1972 à 1986, Lou Reed signe près de vingt albums dont Sally can't dance (1974) qui est son plus gros succès |
