Grand Funk Railroad est un groupe de rock américain, formé en 1968 par Mark Farner, Don Brewer et Mel Schacher à Flint, Michigan, USA. Le nom provient de la compagnie du Michigan « Grand Trunk Western Railroad ». En 1970, Grand Funk était le groupe américain qui avait vendu le plus d'albums. Avec « Phoenix », le style change quelque peu, s'éloignant du hard pour aller plus vers le funk, et des claviers rejoignent le groupe (Craig Frost). |
